The Barbados Diabetes Foundation presents “Sweetness” – The Premiere Showcase of Barbados’ Finest Performers on Saturday, 19 June 2016 2016, 7pm at the Plantation Garden Theatre, Christ Church..

“Sweetness” celebrates 50 years of Barbados’ independence and is being done in aid of the projects and programmes of the Barbados Diabetes Foundation. Diabetes affects 1 in 5 Barbadians (Health of the Nation Study 2013) and at least 40% of the Barbados population is pre-diabetic. From amputations, to blindness, to kidney disease to infertility, the effects of Diabetes are wreaking havoc on the Barbadian population.

Top Barbadian performers will be coming together to lend their time and talent to raise awareness about Diabetes and its impact and what can be done to mitigate the disease that affects many artistes themselves. The show will be 100% Bajan featuring mixed genres of soca, calypso, jazz, gospel, spooge and more.  The growing lists of confirmed artistes include:

Blood, Biggie Irie, Smokey Burkw, Terencia Coward, Paula Hinds, Allison Norville Forde, Alex Cage, ADONIJAH, Serenader, Adrian Clarke, Rev Tony Lowe, Rev Dr Mark Harewood, Keisha Christian, Melissa Walcott, Eric Lewis, Mark Lorde, Willie Kerr, Adrian Boo Husbands & Others.
