The Barbados Sports Medicine Association presents “Staying in the Game: From Prevention to Performance”, a Sports Medicine Conference on June 30 – July 1, 2018 at the Savannah Hotel, Barbados.
The goal of this event is to educate athletes, coaches and medical professionals on current best practices in sports medicine and assist in minimizing injury risks to improve athlete management and performance. Topics explored include treatment of injuries, advances in rehabilitation, diagnostic ultrasounds, psychology of performance, the Olympic medical code and more. Speakers include a multidisciplinary team of professionals from Barbados and the Caribbean region including orthopaedic surgeons, physiotherapists, psychologists and sports medicine specialists.
Athletes, coaches, athletic trainers, athletic therapists, medical doctors, general practitioners, physical therapists, podiatrists, parents, physical education teachers and all sports affiliated persons/ persons caring for athletes are all welcome to attend.

- to emphasise the importance of athlete health and well-being for optimal sporting performance
