Heart Disease is the #1 cause of death in Barbados. It touches everyone. From the diabetic or hypertensive, to the overweight/obese or someone with a family history, or even survivors of cancer – it leaves no one out. But do you know enough about it?  Do you know the differences between a heart attack, heart failure and cardiac arrest? Do you know how to reduce your risk? Well, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Barbados invites you to attend an exciting Wellness Seminar set to take place on the morning of Saturday July 13th at LESC.

A Few Details: In the first session of the day, participants will sit with medical practitioners as we discuss, in simple terms, the problem of heart disease globally, and in Barbados, including its financial and societal implications. After this, the Wellness Seminar sessions begin which will explore diet and nutrition, risk factors, family history, mental health and prevention strategies. Real-life experiences of patients living with various forms of heart disease will be shared and participants will have the opportunity to interact with both patients and medical experts to answer your burning questions on heart disease. At the end of the seminar attendees will be equipped with tools to effect change in their lifestyle or workplace.

This seminar HOW2019 Wellness Seminar is for EVERYONE, and will take place from 9:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. The cost is $125.00 per person, BDS$50.00 for students. This covers the cost of the session and coffee break
