A basic understanding of Electrocardiograms (ECGs) is necessary for all practitioners on the frontline of patient care. This ECG course provides an opportunity to learn a systematic approach to ECG interpretation for adult healthcare providers in conjunction with a practical “hands-on” session.
The workshop will include:
· Understanding the why, how, when of ECGs
· Performing ECGs with instructor guidance
· Understanding the basics of ECGs- waves, segments and intervals etc.
· Practising a systematic approach to interpreting ECGs.
· Identifying pathology such as MI, arrhythmias and other syndromes
· Other topics
This workshop will be conducted in conjunction with the Caribbean Cardiac Society and led by Dr. Dawn Scantlebury, Interventional Cardiologist. It will be the first in a series of 4 workshops leading up to the annual CCS conference in Barbados in July 2024. All healthcare professionals are welcomed. Stay tuned!
